18 Apr O.A.R.S. and Klean Kanteen Team Up to Help Guests Go Green on the River and Beyond
Single use plastics are bad news for the environment. So it’s no surprise that O.A.R.S., which has earned its reputation as a true pioneer in environmental stewardship and sustainable tourism since it was founded in 1969, has struck up a partnership with Klean Kanteen, makers of truly awesome reusable water bottles, to help keep plastic out of our rivers, streams and landfills.

This year, guests on OARS’ overnight domestic adventures will receive a 12-ounce, insulated, high-quality, river- and trail-worthy stainless steel beverage container from Klean Kanteen, embellished with O.A.R.S. 45th Anniversary artwork and the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace.
“Even though we’ve been utilizing reusable mugs on our trips for years, partnering with Klean Kanteen provides our guests with a product they will not only use, but hopefully cherish for many years to come,” says Steve Markle of O.A.R.S.
Refilling and reusing bottles instead of buying single-use containers allows every individual to keep thousands of bottles, cups and other single-use items from entering the waste stream, our waterways and our oceans. So kudos to these two great companies for taking this small but important step to help address and raise awareness about the problem.
